Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ondeacha (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit ondeacha.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We wrote it to comply with U.S. privacy laws that apply to websites like ours, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and similar state privacy laws.

1. Who we are

Ondeacha is an independent product review and buying guide website. We research products and publish recommendations. We do not sell products ourselves. If you have any question about this policy, use our contact page.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you send us a message through our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you choose to provide. We use it only to answer you.

If comments are enabled on a post and you leave one, we collect the name, email address, and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web server and hosting provider automatically record technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used to keep the Site running, secure, and fast.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies that make the Site work and remember your cookie choices.
  • Analytics cookies (only if and when we enable an analytics service such as Google Analytics) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site.
  • Affiliate links. When you click a link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may place its own cookies on your device to record that you came from our Site. Those cookies are set and controlled by the retailer under its own privacy policy, not ours.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie banner on our Site, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

3. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
  • To respond to messages you send us.
  • To understand which content is useful to readers.
  • To earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our links, which is how we fund the Site.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only:

  • With service providers that host, secure, or help run the Site (for example, our web hosting company), who process it on our behalf.
  • With analytics providers, if enabled and if you allow analytics cookies.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our readers, us, or others.

5. Affiliate disclosure

Ondeacha participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Read our full Affiliate Disclosure.

6. Your privacy rights

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If we ever add advertising technology that would count as “sharing,” we will update this policy and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out request.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

In the past 12 months we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address) and internet or network activity (such as pages viewed). We collected them from you directly and from your device, for the purposes described in Section 3.

Residents of other U.S. states

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others, may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. You may also appeal a decision we make about your request by replying to our response.

How to make a request

Send your request through our contact page and tell us which right you want to exercise. We will verify your request using the information you provide and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common standard for how to respond to DNT, the Site does not currently change its behavior in response to it. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described above.

8. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Data retention

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security purposes. Comments remain until removed.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS encryption, to protect information. No website can guarantee perfect security.

11. International visitors

The Site is operated from outside the United States and is hosted on servers that may be located in different countries. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live.

12. Third-party links

Our pages link to retailers and other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. Please read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

14. Contact us
