By use
The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 and the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 are two of the most popular 1kWh power stations in the U.S., and they weigh almost the same. On paper they look like twins. They’re not: one is built for raw power and fast charging, the other for lightness and simplicity.
The verdict in 30 seconds
- Buy the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 if you want to run high-watt appliances (microwave, kettle, induction plate), charge in under an hour, use more solar, and get a 5-year warranty.
- Buy the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 if you want the lightest 1kWh unit, slightly more capacity, and it’s the cheaper of the two when you’re shopping.

Where the Anker wins
It runs bigger appliances
2,000W continuous versus 1,500W is the biggest practical difference. Many full-size microwaves, electric kettles, coffee makers, and hair dryers draw 1,500–1,800W. On the Jackery they sit right at or above the limit; on the Anker they run comfortably. If you plan to cook, this decides it.
It charges faster and takes more sun
In its fast-charging mode the C1000 Gen 2 goes from empty to full in under an hour, versus about 1.7 hours for the Jackery. Its 600W solar input also refills about 50% faster from panels than the Jackery’s 400W — useful during a multi-day outage.
More outlets, longer warranty, rated UPS
Five AC outlets let you plug in a fridge, router, lamp, and phone charger without a power strip. The 10ms UPS switchover is fast enough for routers and CPAP machines. And the 5-year warranty is two years longer.
Where the Jackery wins
Slightly lighter, slightly more capacity
The Jackery is about a pound lighter and holds 46Wh more. That’s roughly 4% more runtime — real, but small. Running a 60W load, it’s about 15.2 hours versus 14.5 hours.
Simpler to live with
Jackery’s controls are straightforward, and it doesn’t rely on an app to reach its rated charging speed the way the Anker’s fastest mode does.
Often the lower price
Both go on sale frequently. When the Jackery is meaningfully cheaper, it’s a strong value for anyone who doesn’t need 2,000W.
Real-world runtime
Using runtime ≈ capacity × 0.85 ÷ watts:
| Load | Anker C1000 Gen 2 | Jackery 1000 v2 |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi router (20W) | About 43 hours | About 45 hours |
| CPAP, no humidifier (40W) | About 22 hours | About 23 hours |
| Efficient fridge (50W daily average) | About 17 hours | About 18 hours |
| Starlink Standard (90W) | About 9.7 hours | About 10 hours |
| 1,500W kettle | About 35 minutes | At the limit — may trip |
Which should you buy?
- Home backup with UPS: Anker — rated 10ms switchover and more outlets.
- Camping and carrying it often: either; Jackery is a hair lighter.
- Camp cooking or running a microwave: Anker, clearly.
- Solar-heavy use: Anker (600W vs 400W) — or consider the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus with 1,000W. See Anker C1000 Gen 2 vs. EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus.
- Tightest budget for basic backup: Jackery when it’s on sale.
Common questions
Can both run a full-size refrigerator?
Yes. Both have a 3,000W surge rating, which covers the start-up spike of typical full-size fridges. See how long a power station runs a fridge.
Can I add extra batteries?
Neither is designed around expansion batteries the way the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is. If you expect to need 2kWh+ later, look at expandable models or a larger unit like the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2.
Which lasts longer over the years?
Both are rated for 4,000 cycles. Anker rates that to 80% remaining capacity; Jackery to 70%. Either should last many years of normal use.
